Arno Profile System
A Christ-centered temperament assessment.
The temperament analysis profile we administer is the Arno Profile System (APS), used in conjunction with Christian-centered counseling procedures. It is a powerful tool that measures and identifies a client's temperament in three distinct areas: Inclusion, Control, and Affection.
- Inclusion — a person's social orientation and intellectual energies.
- Control — a person's willingness or unwillingness to make decisions for self and others; whether they lead or follow.
- Affection — a person's interaction in deep personal relationships.
Grounded in Scripture, Refined by Research
Drs. Richard and Phyllis Arno developed this procedure over a seven-year study with more than 5,000 individuals. Their objectives were to base it on Scripture, to save clients' and Christian counselors' time, and to produce effective, positive results for people seeking answers to life issues. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit they created a scientifically sound profiling system that is highly effective when the user answers honestly.
The APS does not measure behavior — it measures inborn temperament, a person's God-given predisposition to the world around them. Consideration is given to learned behavior, personality, family of origin, birth order, and the individual's relationship with God.
What to Expect
The APS is an eye-opening, in-depth assessment that helps individuals grow in understanding and appreciation of themselves and one another. Each individual receives a personal report full of insight into their temperament. The APS itself takes only 8–10 minutes to complete. Respondents are asked to read each question carefully and respond as honestly as possible; the APS then reveals the pre-disposition of the soul beneath a person's mask and defensive mechanisms.
Please Note
We cannot obtain an accurate profile on someone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol; mentally challenged by brain damage or cognitive disability; or someone who intentionally tries to deceive the assessment with their responses.
